Success Needs Support – Lessons Learned In Wichita Falls

A lot of people think success is an individual pursuit, a lone hero conquering the mountain of their dreams. But the truth is that real success is more like a group project. You might have the big idea, the hustle, and the drive, but you need the right crew with you to make it happen

I know this from experience. Growing up, my mom, grandma, and three sisters were my whole world. We weren’t rich, not by a long shot, but with each other, we had enough. And in amongst it all, there was an abundance of love, encouragement, and unwavering faith. That small town, my little “village”, my tribe; we stuck together, we cheered each other on, and we never gave up.

I’m 35+ years into my entrepreneurship journey, and guess what? The same lessons still apply. Building anything from the ground up is tough. There are ups and downs, roadblocks and doubts. That’s when you need a strong support system. And it’s never too late to start building yours. Here’s how:

  • Find your cheerleaders: Surround yourself with people who believe in you, even when you doubt yourself. They can be friends, family, mentors, whoever!
  • Shake things up: Don’t just talk to people who agree with you all the time. Get different perspectives, hear new ideas, and challenge yourself to grow.
  • Be there for others too: Remember, a good support system is a two-way street. Help out your tribe when they need you, celebrate their wins, and be the kind of friend you want to have.

And this goes for your partner too. Choose the right one and it’s like having a personal hype squad, a built-in problem solver, and your biggest fan club all rolled into one! The most important thing that they’ll do is hold you accountable. You can never underestimate the value of that.

So, ditch the lone wolf mentality. Build your support system, lean on them, and watch your dreams take flight! Success won’t be far behind.
